Yesterday, 16 December 2009, marked the opening of the newly designed Air Lounge at Vienna International Airport. These modern rooms are splitted in various seating areas: A separate business corner allows visitors to carry on their work undisturbed. In another room, a relaxation zone provides space to unwind. The Air Lounge is located directly behind the passport control counters in the Pier East and gives visitors an unrestricted view of the apron.
A self-service bar provides a breakfast or lunch buffet that is changed to match the time of day. Austrian and foreign newspapers, magazines, television and three free Internet stations provide a pleasant stay to departure. The Air Lounge is open for passengers from 6 am to 8 pm.
In addition to the Air Lounge, Vienna International Airport also operates the Jet Lounge in the Plaza near the boarding card controls. All airline passengers can use these two lounges, also without a frequent flyer card or business class ticket, for a price of EUR 24. Special agreements are made for passengers with a frequent flyer card or business class with the airlines. Travel agencies can also book these lounges for their customers. Additional information can be found under www.viennaairport.com . The two lounges at Vienna International Airport are currently visited by roughly 20,000 passengers per month.
