There are a number of ways to get to the airport:
Address: Flughafen Wien, Einfahrtsstrasse, 1300 Wien-Flughafen
Coordinates: N 48º07'29", E 16º33'27"
We recommend the following car parks, depending on the check-in area:
For Check-in 1 and Check-in 1A multi-storey car park 3 (coordinates N 48º07'21", E 16º33'36") is ideal. In bad weather it is possible to access the check-in areas under cover via car park level 2.
For Check-in 3 multi-storey car park 4 (coordinates N 48º07'18", E 16º33'51"). Head in the direction of Arrivals and turn left after NH Hotel.
You can also reach multi-storey car park 4 from the Departures level. The entrance is on the left-hand side opposite Check-in 3.
There are lifts in multi-storey car park 4 to take you to level 3 and from there via a bridge to Check-in 3. In bad weather there is a covered passenger tunnel via level -1.
Alternatively, wherever you are checking in you can park in car park C (coordinates N 48º07'23", E 16º33'59"). There is a covered passage to the check-in areas on level -1.
You will be issued a ticket at the entrance barrier to the car park. Please keep this in a safe place until you leave. The prices for use of the car parks can be found in our car park price list. Payment is made at the machines in the car parks, at the ticket desk in multi-storey car park 4 (open 24 hours a day) or directly at the exit barrier by credit card (American Express, Diners Club, MasterCard, Visa), Austrian debit card (Bankomat) or parking card.
If you arrive at the airport by taxi, you should get out directly at your check-in area. Ask the driver to stop at Check-in 1, 1A or 3, depending on your airline. Tell him/her before arriving at the airport if possible which check-in area you need. The Check-in Finder will help you in this regard.
The bus station is directly in front of the Arrivals hall.
If you check in at Check-in 3 follow the marked pedestrian passages from the bus station to the Arrivals hall and take one of the two escalators or three lifts to level 1, the departure level.
If you have to go to Check-in 1 or 1A, turn to the right as you get off the bus and follow the signs.
The station is underground on level -2.
After leaving the train, take the stairs, lift or escalator to the next level (level -1) and follow the signs. You can reach Check-in 3 via the arrivals level by using one of the two escalators or three lifts.
If you have to go to Check-in 1 or 1A, take the escalator to level -1 following the signs for Check-in 1 and 1A and then the lift to level 0. From there follow the signs to the Arrivals hall and then to the right towards Check-in 1 and 1A.
Ascertain if possible before arriving at the airport which check-in area you need. The Check-in Finder will help you.
When you check in, your ticket becomes a boarding pass. There are several ways this can happen:
Save time queuing at the airport and check in from home with your airlines online check-in. Print out your boarding pass and present it to the boarding pass control at the airport. If you have hold baggage, check it in beforehand at the special counters. You can find out directly from your airline whether it has an online check-in facility.
Depending on the airline, you can check in from 24 hours to 75 minutes before your departure time. Your airline will tell you exactly when you can check in.
An updated list of all airlines with check-in facilities at Wien-Mitte can be found at www.cityairporttrain.com, or you can call +43 1 25250 for further information.
With some airlines, e.g. Austrian Airlines, NIKI Luftfahrt and Air Berlin, it is possible to check in the day before your flight. Ask your airline whether it offers this facility.
If you have baggage to check in and have not done so at Wien-Mitte or the day before, check it in at your airline counter at the airport, either when checking in for your flight or afterwards. You will be given baggage tag receipts.
The baggage allowance is the amount of baggage conveyed per person by the airline at no additional cost. You can find the maximum weight or number of bags on your plane ticket or from your airline.
If you are travelling with oversize baggage or pets, please inquire with your airline about the costs and take note of the following:
Please note that there are size restrictions on hand luggage. These limitations are not standardised and the weight and size can vary according to the airline, class and route. The maximum size for hand luggage on Austrian Airlines flights is 55 x 40 x 30 cm and the maximum weight is 8 kg.
If you are boarding at F or G gates, please go to boarding pass control 4. Your boarding pass will be checked and you will pass through the barrier to the airside area. If you are being accompanied by someone who is not travelling with you and has no boarding card, he or she cannot pass this barrier. The airside area has a wide range of shops and food outlets.
Before you can go to your gate, you will have to undergo a security control to check both yourself and your hand luggage. You will have to remove all metal objects before passing through the metal detector. Liquid containers may hold no more than 100 ml, transported in a 1 litre plastic bag, to be shown to the security personnel. If you are travelling to a country that is party to the Schengen Agreement, you should go to the central security control area for gates B, C and F. If you are travelling to a non-Schengen country, go to the central security control area for gates D and G and then to passport control.
Please note the security regulations for hand luggage and the list of prohibited items. See the list of permitted items for details on baby food, baby bottles, liquid medicines or the like. You should consult this list in good time before leaving.
Make sure that you keep informed about the departure of your flight. The flight status is shown on notice boards and monitors in your gate area. You can also use your mobile phone to consult the list of the latest departures on our mobile website. Alternatively you can register with our Vienna Airport app to obtain news on your iPhone or Android smartphone.

If an alternative flight is offered, note the flight information (flight number, departure time, gate) and follow the instructions given by the counter staff. In the meantime you can enjoy the shopping and food offered airside or relax in the exclusive atmosphere of one of the airport lounges.

You will be issued a ticket at the entrance barrier to the car park. Please keep this in a safe place until you leave.
