Flughafen Wien AG: contracts signed with Heinemann and SPAR for Skylink space
The terminal extension VIE-Skylink will create 9,600 m² of space for 32 retail and 18 gastronomy facilities. Contracts have
now been signed with the major operators. The opening of the Skylink will double the retail and gastronomy areas in Vienna
International Airport to roughly 19,100 m² and offer passengers an entirely new travel experience.
The start of operations in the Skylink will make it possible for Vienna International Airport to provide an even more
comfortable shopping experience and an outstanding range of brands. The Non-Aviation Segment has already become an important
source of revenues for Flughafen Wien, and the further development of this business is an important focus of our activities.
That is why we are concentrating on strong and well-known international brands in the Skylink. We are pleased to expand our
successful partnership with Heinemann and to welcome a new brand to Vienna International Airport with SPAR Gourmet,
explained Ernest Gabmann, member of the Management Board of Flughafen Wien AG.
The retail and gastronomy offering in the terminal extension Skylink is designed to meet the needs of various target groups,
including passengers, visitors and employees. A free-flow concept will lead travellers through the retail and
gastronomy areas after the main security controls. Level 1 (Schengen) and Level 3 (international) will include duty free/duty
paid shops as well as luxury brand flagship stores. In the landside area meters & greeters will find a wide range
of shops to meet their everyday needs.
New gastronomy facilities for Vienna
The brand SPAR Gourmet will open a local shopping food market in the Skylink arrivals hall. The Hamburg travel-retail expert
Heinemann will also be represented in the terminal extension with its newly designed market presence in a top quality walk-through
store. In the gastronomy sector, a contract was finalised with Airest, which will operate two concepts ? Decanto and Indochine light 21
? that were especially developed for Vienna International Airport. A contract was also signed with the Anker bakery chain, which will open a branch shop in the Skylink. The agreements with
other operators for the retail and gastronomy areas in the terminal extension Skylink will be finalised shortly.
