Continuation of Success Path: Supervisory Board Reappoints Julian Jäger and Günther Ofner to the Management Board of Flughafen
Wien AG
In a meeting held on June 23, 2015, the Supervisory Board of Flughafen Wien AG made a decision with respect to the Management Board contracts which expire in September 2016. Julian Jäger and Günther Ofner were unanimously reappointed to serve as Members of the Management Board of Flughafen Wien AG. The new term of office extends for an additional five years, from September 2016 to September 2021.
Today the Supervisory Board unanimously approved the extension of the Management Board contracts of Günther Ofner and Julian Jäger for a further five-year period. The management can show an impressive track record and demonstrated the best team spirit in their collaboration. Net debt was almost halved, productivity improved by a quarter and the share price tripled which is also not totally irrelevant for the owners. Furthermore, the new terminal was not only completed, but the costs were significantly reduced from the predicted level of 830 million to about 720 million, states Ewald Kirschner, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Flughafen Wien AG. Thanks to a series of measures, the quality of service for passengers was perceptibly enhanced and the airport moved up in the corresponding international rankings. Last but not least, Vienna Airport even won the renowned Skytrax Award for the best airport staff in Europe. For all of these reasons, we unanimously decided to continue the previous success path with the current Management Board for the next five years, he adds.
This important decision was made about one year before expiration of the current term of office of the Management Board in order to ensure stable prospects for the future of the company and its approximately 4,500 employees. In line with the Public Appointment Act, the Management Board positions at Flughafen Wien AG were publicly advertised. After a comprehensive evaluation of all the applications, the Supervisory Board unanimously approved the reappointment of the Management Board members Julian Jäger and Günther Ofner at its meeting held on June 23, 2015, thus laying the foundation for the successful further development of the company in the future.
