New at Vienna Airport: Air India from Vienna to Delhi as of the Beginning of April
Starting on April 6, 2016, Air India will operate flights from Vienna Airport to Delhi. The Indian airline will connect Vienna to Indias biggest market three times a week.
We are pleased to welcome Air India, a new long-haul carrier, to Vienna Airport. In addition to its significance as a capital city region and important Indian business center, Delhi is also very attractive as a tourist destination. At the same time, Vienna is an important market for tourism from India, says Julian Jäger, Member of the Management Board of Flughafen Wien AG.
Air India is extremely excited to add one more destination in Europe. Vienna would be 8th city in Europe which will be connected directly with non-stop services from Delhi. With our Star Alliance partner Austrian Airlines we are very positive that the flight would do very well, so Pankaj Srivastava, Commercial Director, Air India
"Vienna's tourism growth targets are supported decisively by direct flight connections. That Air India closes the gap that was created by the elimination of the previous connection New Delhi-Vienna, is welcomed by WienTourismus and will be a boost for the guest appearance. India is for Vienna tourism a growth market with strong potential - alone 2015, we recorded a rise at hotel nights by 39%, "said Director of Tourism Norbert Kettner.
Air India will deploy a Boeing Dreamliner 787-800 on flights taking off at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays from Delhi and landing at 6:45 p.m. in Vienna. The return flight will depart from Vienna at 10:45 p.m. and arrive in Delhi at 9:25 a.m. next day.
Air India a member of the Star Alliance since 2014
Air India was founded in 1932, and currently operates a fleet of 107 aircraft, flying to 35 destinations around the world and 69 within India. Its main Hub Delhi offers good connections from Europe to cities in India, South East Asia and Australia.
