Over 180 representatives from politics, business and aviation attended the ‘Vienna CESEE Airport Forum’ at Vienna Airport from 4 to 6 December 2024. Among others: Susanne Kraus-Winkler, State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Labour and Economic Affairs, Andreas Schieder, Member of the Tourism and Transport Committee in the EU Parliament, Julian Jäger, Joint CEO and COO of Vienna Airport, Olivier Jankovec, Director General of ACI Europe, Michael Trestl, COO of Austrian Airlines, Jason McGuiness, CCO of Ryanair, Silvia Mosquera, CCO of Wizz Air, Joseph Young, General Manager for EMEAI at Delta Air Lines, Laila Odina, CEO of Riga Airport, Jiri Pos, CEO of Prague Airport, Mario Holzner, Managing Director of the Vienna Institute for International Economic Studies, and many other experts. The focus was on topics such as growth strategies for the aviation region of Central and South Eastern Europe, the development of the airline market, cyber security, sustainable airport development and the future of airport cities. The event was held at the state-of-the-art Vienna Airport Conference & Innovation Center and was organised by the European airport association Airport Council International (ACI) Europe together with Vienna Airport.
International aviation congress with over 180 industry representatives
The international aviation event kicked off at Vienna Airport on 4 December 2024 with an exclusive welcome reception on the event area in the airport tower. The conference was opened the next morning with keynote speeches by Vienna Airport Joint CEO and COO Julian Jäger, State Secretary for Tourism Susanne Kraus-Winkler and ACI Director General Olivier Jankovec. This was followed by exciting presentations and panel discussions on key topics of aviation development, including growth strategies for the CESEE region, the development of the airline market and economic and geopolitical perspectives. On 6 December, the focus was on cyber security, sustainable airport development and the future of airport cities. The international industry meeting was rounded off with the Vienna Airport evening event ‘Aviation Get together’ in the Hofstallungen in Vienna's Museumsquartier.
