November 2024 – 2,936,271 passengers (+10.0%) handled by the Flughafen Wien Group and 2,264,936 passengers at Vienna Airport (+7.4%)

Passenger volumes further increased. In November 2024, passenger traffic of the Flughafen Wien Group (Vienna Airport, Malta Airport and Kosice Airport) rose by 10.0% to 2,936,271 travellers, whereas Vienna Airport showed a 7.4% increase to 2,264,936 passengers compared to November 2023. Current growth is continuing at the present time. On 10 December 2024, Vienna Airport surpassed the threshold of 30 million passengers in one year.
The number of local passengers at Vienna Airport in November 2024 was up to 1,850,561 (+9.4%), whereas transfer passenger traffic fell slightly to 407,822 travellers (-0.7%). The number of flight movements in November 2024 increased 4.1% year-on-year to 17,291 take-offs and landings. Cargo volume equalled 27,134 tonnes, comprising a rise of 23.5% from the prior-year month of November 2023.
Details on passenger traffic in November 2024
Passenger traffic from Vienna Airport to Western Europe in the month of November 2024 rose to 754,091 passengers, comprising an increase of 6.1% from the previous year. The number of passengers flying to Eastern Europe in November 2024 amounted to 173,583 travellers (+11.4%). Vienna Airport reported a total of 27,841 passengers flying to North America (+10.4%), and 30,607 to Africa (+9.8%). Passenger traffic to destinations in the Middle East totalled 56,875 travellers (+1.2%) in November 2024, whereas passenger volume to the Far East climbed to 47,388 travellers, comprising a year-on-year increase of 27.6%.
The strategic investments of Flughafen Wien AG also developed very well. Passenger volume at Malta Airport rose 19.2% to 630,637 travellers in November 2024. Kosice Airport handled a total of 40,698 passengers, showing a strong increase of 29.0% from the prior-year month.
Accumulated passenger volumes from January – November 2024: +7.3% at Vienna Airport and +9.1% in the Flughafen Wien Group
The total number of passengers handled by Vienna Airport in the period from January to November 2024 increased by 7.3% from the previous year to 29,339,140 passengers, or 0.5% above the pre-crisis level of 2019. Total cargo volume from January to November 2024 equalled 272,921 tonnes, a rise of 21.6% from the prior-year period. Passenger volume in the entire Flughafen Wien Group (Vienna Airport, Malta Airport and Kosice Airport) in this period was up 9.1% to 38,399,111 travellers.
