The Flughafen Wien Group showed slight growth in passenger traffic. In February 2025, passenger volume in the entire Group (Vienna Airport, Malta Airport and Kosice Airport) rose by 5.0% to 2,499,805 travellers, whereas Vienna Airport reported a 1.4% increase to 1,901,065 passengers compared to February 2024.
The number of local passengers at Vienna Airport climbed 4.6% from the prior-year month of February 2024 to 1,567,682 travellers, whereas transfer passenger traffic fell to 326,176 travellers (-11.8%). The number of flight movements in February 2025 increased 3.0% year-on-year to 14,986 take-offs and landings. Cargo volume totalled 23,232 tonnes, comprising a rise of 9.9% from the prior-year month of February 2024.
Details on passenger traffic
In February 2025, passenger traffic from Vienna Airport to Western Europe climbed by 1.1% from the previous year to 639,248 passengers. The number of passengers flying to Eastern Europe amounted to 139,526 travellers (-0.1%). Vienna Airport reported a total of 17,057 passengers flying to North America (-9.6%), and 28,645 to Africa (+3.8%). Passenger traffic to destinations in the Middle East totalled 68,368 travellers (-3.1%), whereas passenger volume to the Far East was up to 52,042 travellers, comprising a year-on-year increase of 33.8%.
The strategic investments of Flughafen Wien AG also developed very well. Passenger volume at Malta Airport showed a rise of 18.2% to 560,553 travellers in the month of February 2025. Kosice Airport handled a total of 38,187 passengers, comprising a strong increase of 24.7% from the prior-year month.

The total number of passengers handled by Vienna Airport in the period from January to February 2025 increased by 2.4% from the previous year to 3,791,167 passengers. Total cargo volume equalled 44,773 tonnes, a rise of 6.5% from the prior-year period. Passenger volume in the entire Flughafen Wien Group (Vienna Airport, Malta Airport and Kosice Airport) in this period was up 4.9% to 4,936,156 travellers.
