Scandinavia’s Largest Airline Returns to Vienna Airport: SAS to operate daily flights to Copenhagen starting 26 October 2025

Even better flight connections will now be offered to Northern Europe. Effective 26 October 2025, SAS Scandinavian Airlines will once again link Vienna and Copenhagen. Accordingly, the Scandinavian airline is returning to Vienna Airport after a seven-year break. SAS will operate twelve weekly flights on the Vienna-Copenhagen route. The flight hub in Copenhagen offers ideal transfer possibilities enabling business travellers and vacationers to continue their journeys.

“Welcome back, SAS! After a seven-year break, Scandinavia’s largest airline is returning to Vienna. Scandinavia is one of Europe’s most economically dynamic regions, and the new connection to Copenhagen brings two of the world’s most liveable cities even closer together. The new connection to Copenhagen offers business and leisure travelers greater choice and seamless onward connections across the entire SAS network — including destinations such as Seattle, Atlanta, Greenland, and Svalbard. We are delighted to continue our successful partnership with SAS,” states Julian Jäger, Joint CEO and COO of Vienna Airport.

“We’re very pleased to return to Vienna and to once again offer daily flights connecting the Austrian and Scandinavian capitals. Copenhagen is one of Northern Europe’s most efficient hubs, giving travelers from Vienna easy access to all of Scandinavia as well as to our extensive long-haul network in North America and Asia. We’re delighted to once again welcome passengers on board on this route,” says Henrik Winell, Vice President Network at SAS.

Twelve weekly flights between Vienna and Copenhagen
As of 26 October 2025, SAS Scandinavian Airlines will resume flight service twelve times per week connecting Vienna and the Danish capital city of Copenhagen. The flights are scheduled to enable both business travellers as well as weekend guests to benefit from ideal off-peak times. Up to two daily flights will be operated every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. The airline will deploy an Embraer 195 aircraft along with a Bombardier Canadair Regional Jet. Passengers can take advantage of optimal flight connections to North America at Copenhagen Airport via the SAS route network. For example, the airline will fly to San Francisco, Atlanta, Miami, New York, Los Angeles and other cities.
