| Press releases

The VIENNA Lounge at Vienna Airport offers a retreat of the highest standard – and achieves a hat-trick at the renowed Priority Pass Excellence Awards: 2026 winning European “Lounge of the Year” for the third consecutive year. The awards are based on 700,000 member reviews from the global Priority Pass network, which today comprises over 1,800 airport lounges and travel experiences in 146 countries. In 2025, more than one million guests used the VIENNA Lounge and the SKY Lounge at Vienna Airport for the first time.
“Three titles in a row send a clear signal: the VIENNA Lounge sets standards across Europe. It represents what Vienna stands for – quality, elegance, outstanding cuisine and genuine hospitality. We consistently translate this combination into a travel experience of the highest international level. This award is primarily thanks to the great commitment of our team as well as the strong cooperation with our partners DoN group and Leopold Museum,” says Julian Jäger, joint CEO and COO of Vienna Airport.
“Now in its 18th year, the Priority Pass Excellence Awards continue to showcase the very best of our global network, and each year, our partners raise the bar even higher. With demand for premium travel experiences at an all-time high, travellers are increasingly looking to make every moment of their journey more meaningful and memorable. Travellers today expect versatility, quality, and genuine local experience, and our partners deliver all three. The Priority Pass Excellence Awards recognise the partners who consistently go above and beyond to deliver exceptional moments that truly enhance the journey for our members. Congratulations to this year’s winners,” says Christopher Evans, CEO of Collinson International.
Priority Pass Excellence Awards 2026: VIENNA Lounge is number 1 in Europe
The VIENNA Lounge at Vienna Airport was named “Lounge of the Year, Europe Winner” at the Priority Pass Excellence Awards 2026, making it the highest rated lounge in Europe within the Priority Pass network. The VIENNA Lounge has now received a top-ranking award for the third time. The awards are based on over 700,000 member ratings and reviews across a range of criteria, including quality of facilities, standard of customer service, food and beverage selection, comfort, ambiance and overall member satisfaction.
VIENNA Lounge: Exclusive atmosphere, Viennese elegance, Austrian art, and cuisine
Spanning an area of approx. 2,500 m², the VIENNA Lounge leaves nothing to be desired. Elegant interior decoration with design elements from the “Vienna School,” comfortable and high-quality furnishings and a panorama view of the airport apron combine to create a bright and pleasant ambience. Possibilities to take showers, relaxation rooms and even a separate large conference room looking out upon the airport apron provide extensive services to travellers. The passenger lounges at Vienna Airport focus on first-class service and genuine Austrian hospitality - made tangible by a dedicated team that works every day to make the stay as pleasant as possible for all guests. The culinary concept is provided by the DoN group, Austria's largest privately owned catering company. What is particularly impressive is the fact that the entire lounge is decorated with high quality art prints of well-known works of art by eminent local artists such as Egon Schiele, Gustav Klimt, and many others as a result of the airport’s collaboration with the Leopold Museum in Vienna. Travellers who spend time in the VIENNA Lounge will feel as if they are experiencing Vienna at its most beautiful side.
DoN group – Austria’s largest privately owned catering company
Since March 2021, DoN has been serving the exclusive passenger lounges at Vienna Airport, one of which is the VIENNA Lounge, and offers culinary delights and genuine hospitality at the highest level. Featuring a customised offering and a strong connection to Austria, DoN's concepts meet the highest quality standards. The DoN group was founded in 1992 by Josef Donhauser, who has successfully established and developed the business since then to Austria’s largest privately owned catering company. The company develops customized F&B and hospitality concepts for airline and railway companies and serves as a premium caterer for events, congresses as well as sports and cultural organizations. Additionally, the group operates numerous restaurants both domestically and internationally.
Leopold Museum curates selected art prints for the VIENNA Lounge
Thanks to its collaboration with the Leopold Museum, the artistic design concept of the VIENNA Lounge allows visitors from all over the world to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of Vienna in 1900. High-quality reproductions show selected paintings and prints by Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele and Koloman Moser as well as historical posters by exponents of the Vienna Secession from the Leopold Museum's collection. Among the works on display in the VIENNA Lounge are Egon Schiele's famous self-portraits and his unique depictions of women, most notably the portrait Wally Neuzil, as well as Gustav Klimt's major work Death and Life.
