April 2026 Traffic Results: 3,675,425 passengers (-2.1%) handled by the Flughafen Wien Group and 2,578,674 passengers at Vienna Airport (-8.2%)

Total passenger volume in the period January to April 2026: Growth of 2.9% to 12,023,442 travellers in the Flughafen Wien Group

The Flughafen Wien Group (Vienna Airport, Malta Airport and Kosice Airport) showed a slight YOY decline of 2.1% to 3,675,425 passengers in the month of April 2026. As expected, the number of passengers handled by Vienna Airport fell by 8.2% to 2,578,674 travellers. This decline can be attributed to the fact that Easter 2026 already took place in March as well as to the reduction of low-cost carrier capacities and the reduced flight offering related to the crisis in the Middle East. In contrast, passenger volume at Malta Airport showed a significant increase in April 2026 to 1,017,570 travellers (+13.5%) and Kosice Airport reported strong growth of 66.5% to 79,181 passengers. In the period January to April 2026, passenger traffic in the entire Flughafen Wien Group rose by 2.9% to 12,023,442 travellers. Since 28 February 2026, the Middle East conflict has led to restrictions on air traffic in the region, which in turn has a dampening effect on the development of passenger traffic at Vienna Airport. Any longer-term impacts will depend on the duration of these adverse conditions.
The passenger forecast and financial guidance of Flughafen Wien AG for the entire 2026 financial year remains unchanged, even taking into account current traffic developments.
