Historic Hat-trick for the VIENNA Lounge: named Europe´s best airport lounge for the third year running

A first in Europe: The VIENNA Lounge at Vienna Airport has once again been named “Lounge of the Year, Europe Winner”, becoming the first airport lounge ever to win the prestigious Priority Pass Excellence Award three years in a row. The award was presented yesterday during a festive ceremony held directly in the VIENNA Lounge, where Christopher Evans, CEO of Collinson International, which owns and operates Priority Pass, presented the accolade to Julian Jäger, Joint CEO and COO of Vienna Airport. Customers, partners and guests joined in celebrating the success at the very place where travellers can enjoy Europe’s best lounge experience before departure. The award also reflects the lounge’s strong performance in terms of guest numbers: in 2025, more than one million travellers used the VIENNA Lounge and SKY Lounge at Vienna Airport for the first time.

„Three ‘Lounge of the Year’ titles in a row – an achievement that only Vienna has accomplished. With the VIENNA Lounge, we have created a place that could only exist in Vienna: a place defined by genuine hospitality, outstanding cuisine, art and a quality of service that leaves a lasting impression. Becoming the first airport lounge to win this title for the third consecutive time shows that this concept truly resonates – and this success is above all thanks to our exceptional lounge team and our strong partners. Together, we are setting a European benchmark for quality, and every day, they all make the VIENNA Lounge a place travellers are happy to return to“, says Julian Jäger, joint CEO and COO of Vienna Airport.

„Congratulations to Vienna Airport on this remarkable achievement. To be named the European Lounge of the Year for three consecutive years is testament to the consistency, quality and commitment of the entire VIENNA Lounge team. The Priority Pass Excellence Awards are shaped by the feedback of our members, making this recognition especially meaningful. Combining exceptional service with a genuine sense of place, the locally inspired food and drink and thoughtful design reflect the character of Vienna itself. We're delighted to celebrate this success with the team, and congratulate everyone involved on another well-deserved award,“ says Christopher Evans, CEO of Collinson International, which owns and operates Priority Pass.

Awarded by Travellers from around the World
The Priority Pass Excellence Awards are among the most important international accolades for airport lounges. They are based on more than 700,000 reviews submitted by Priority Pass members worldwide. The evaluation criteria include service quality, comfort, ambiance, food and beverage offering, and the overall experience. With its third consecutive title, the VIENNA Lounge is setting a new benchmark within the global Priority Pass network, which comprises more than 1,900 airport lounges and travel experiences at over 865 airports in 143 countries.

VIENNA Lounge: Exclusive Ambience, Viennese Elegance, Austrian Art and Culinary Excellence
The VIENNA Lounge is more than just a place to relax – it brings Vienna to the airport. Covering around 2,500 m², it combines modern design with genuine Viennese hospitality, regional culinary offerings and important Austrian art. High-quality furnishings, relaxation rooms, showers, an exclusive conference area and panoramic views of the apron create an ambience that allows every journey to begin in style. The culinary concept is provided by the DoN group, Austria’s largest privately owned catering company. In cooperation with the Leopold Museum, the lounge presents high-quality reproductions of major works by Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele, Koloman Moser and other artists of Viennese Modernism. In this way, guests can experience an authentic piece of Vienna even before departure.

DoN group – Austria’s Largest Privately Owned Catering Company
Since 2021, the DoN group has been responsible for the culinary concept of the exclusive passenger lounges at Vienna Airport. With tailor-made gastronomy and hospitality concepts, a strong regional focus and the highest quality standards, the company ensures that Austrian hospitality becomes tangible for international travellers. The DoN group develops food and beverage concepts for airlines, railway companies and events, and is one of Austria’s leading catering companies.

Leopold Museum Curates Selected Art Prints for the VIENNA Lounge
In cooperation with the Leopold Museum, the VIENNA Lounge also serves as a cultural ambassador for Vienna. High-quality reproductions of selected works by Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele, Koloman Moser and other artists of Viennese Modernism convey the city’s cultural identity to international guests even before they begin their journey.
