Airport ID Card

Due to EU regulations concerning aviation security, Flughafen Wien AG (=VIE) is obliged to secure the airport premises. Access to the landside and airside areas must therefore only be granted to authorised persons. You can obtain the required authorisations with the Airport ID Card.

The application for a permanent Airport ID Card is made digitally:

The official part, registration and entry of employees, takes place in the ZÜP application of the BMK, which can be accessed via the USP.

The order creation, badge application and training booking takes place in the badge authorisation and management system (=ABV) of Flughafen Wien AG.

First entry into the ABV: How to link the ABV with the USP?

How does a company apply for an Airport ID Card in the ABV?

Applying for a permanent Airport ID Card

You are a company and have received an order from your VIE contact to work with Vienna Airport.

Registration in the USP, entry of employee data in the ZÜP application

You need to register your company in the company service portal at www.usp.gv.at. Then you enter the data of your employee(s) for the enhanced background check in the ZÜP application. Afterwards, you have to issue the personal clearance for Vienna Airport.

ABV: Assignment of the work order, triggering the background check

When you first enter the ABV, you enter your company's ID number from the USP in the ABV for identification purposes. Your VIE contact must then verify the ID in the ABV. Only then can you continue with the process.

You then assign a work order to the registered employee the ID application process for the activity and billing. By means of a digital signature (TAN), you initiate the enhanced background check.

Be aware: The duration of the background check by the BMK is up to 28 days!

It is necessary to regularly check whether the preliminary check has been sucessfully completed an dthe background check has been started, after an eZÜP application has been submitted for an empoyee.

Seat reservation for EU security training

You reserve a training place for the employee(s) in the ABV for the EU-compliant security training in the Airport ID Card Office.

The training sessions take place Monday-Thursday (weekdays) at 08:30 and at 13:00.

Complete EU-compliant security training, certificate of knowledge

Your employee arrives at the Airport ID Card Office with his/her uploaded identity document and the QR code sent to him/her for EU-compliant security training. He/she completes the proof of knowledge and then receives the Airport ID Card.

You are a company and work with Vienna Airport on an ongoing basis or have worked with Vienna Airport in the past.

Help: Step-by-step guide for the ABV

Help for the ZÜP application of the BMK

What is the Enterprise Service Portal (USP)?

The Enterprise Service Portal (USP) is an initiative of the Austrian Federal Government. The aim is to establish a central one-stop shop where companies can retrieve the information relevant to them as well as process their legal obligations quickly and efficiently.

The ZÜP application can be accessed via the USP (see below).

How do I register in the USP?

This point is important for all those who have never registered in the USP before.

What is the ZÜP application?

The Background Check / Aviation Security application (CSP application) is an application of the BMK and is used to record the data of the external employee(s). The background check application can be accessed via the Enterprise Service Portal (USP) (see above). This requires logging into the USP with two-factor authentication such as mobile phone signature or citizen card.

All information on the ZÜP application can be found at the following link.

The BMK has set up a hotline for any telephone queries regarding the ZÜP application.

You can reach the ZÜP helpdesk on weekdays from Monday to Friday from 8 am to 4 pm by telephone at:
+43-1-2530188-7953
or by email to
serviceentry.zuep@bmk.gv.at

FAQs

For the application, E-ZÜP, training booking, badge blocking, etc. of the Airport ID Card you need, among other things, the airport's own software ABV, the badge authorisation and management system. The ABV is the digital ID card office.

The work order is created by the VIE contact person in the ABV-System and proves the official necessity for issuing Airport ID Cards. In this order, the VIE contact person determines the number of Airport ID Cards that the company may apply for and the areas that are printed on the Airport ID Cards. The order also specifies how the Airport ID Cards are to be charged (internal/external). Each employee must be assigned a work order for the activity and for billing in the ABV portal. Employees who require the same areas and authorizations on their Airport ID Card can be assigned the same work order for the activity.

Monday-Thursday (on weekdays): 08:30 am and 13:00 pm.
It is essential to book an appointment via the ABV portal!
The identity document uploaded for the E-ZÜP application must be brought to the security training.

Please apply for individual access authorisations by email to ausweisstelle@viennaairport.com with the subject "Individual access authorisations" and describe the area and/or send door numbers and a photo of it.

In the menu "Company" "Employees" you can press "Company exit of person". The Airport ID Card must then be returned to the ID Card Office. A fee will be charged for Airport ID Cards that are not returned.

If you do not press "Company exit of person" for employees who have left the company, you will continue to receive all e-mail notifications for the person.

In the ABV menu "Persons" "All badge holders" you can search for the person. To the far right of the person's name you will find the menu item "block". To unblock the person, please contact the Airport ID Card Office at ausweisstelle@viennaairport.com.
