Leaflet on conduct at Vienna Airport

I. General Provisions

  1. Flughafen Wien Aktiengesellschaft (VIE) may impose restrictions on any access authorizations at any time. At the request of the airport operator and the persons responsible for compliance with the safety requirements, all persons on non-generally accessible parts of the airport must identify themselves. Under special circumstances, identity checks can be carried out.

  2. The provisions of the EU Regulation 300/2008 or the EU Regulation 2015/1998, the EU Regulation 139/2014, the Aviation Safety Act (LSG), the Aviation Act (LFG), the Civil Airport Conditions (ZFBB), the Civil Airport Operational Regulations (ZFBO), the Civil Airport Ordinance (ZFV) and the Air Traffic Regulations (LVR) in their current version must be adhered to.

  3. The currently valid version of the Road Traffic Act (“Straßenverkehrsordnung”) and the house rules apply to the generally accessible / drivable parts of Vienna Airport. The airside regulations also apply to parts that are not generally accessible/passable. Vehicles may only be parked in designated areas.

  4. Except for manned checkpoints, after passing through an automatically closing gate, you must wait for it to close. In the case of gates that do not close automatically, the user must ensure that the passage or passage is closed. The holder of the access or access authorization is responsible for ensuring that no unauthorized persons or vehicles pass by him, otherwise they must be reported to the Security Operation Center immediately.

  5. Access to the security area (sensitive part of the security area) is permitted after a security check. The person authorized to access must authorize the security check regarding themselves, the items they are carrying and, if necessary, their vehicle. If consent is not given, access to or access to the security area will be denied by Vienna Airport or its representatives.

  6. Prohibited items in accordance with EU Regulation 2015/1998 must not be carried into the security area, otherwise access to or access to the security area will be denied by Vienna Airport or its representatives

  7. The rules for the use of certain parts of Vienna Airport resulting from customs and police regulations must be strictly followed.

II. Airport ID Card

  1. The applicant must pay a fee set by Vienna Airport for the issuance of an Airport ID Card or a Vehicle ID Card (see price list).

  2. The applicant acknowledges that his or her personal data and data relating to any vehicle(s) may be stored electronically and processed for operational purposes of Vienna Airport or its subsidiaries.

  3. In case an Airport ID Card is not picked up, the application will lose its validity after 3 months from the date of application and must be reapplied for if necessary.

  4. After applying for and before issuing the Airport ID Card, a security training course, subject to a fee, must be completed and passed in accordance with EU Regulation 2015/1998.

  5. I declare my consent in accordance with Section 134a LFG to carrying out and legally required repetition of extended background checks ("Zuverlässigkeitsüberprüfung"), which are subject to a fee, on myself by the responsible authority. If I apply for the Airport ID Card for third parties (e.g. employees), I declare that (i) they have given corresponding consent or (ii) I am authorized to give corresponding consent on their behalf.

  6. Please note that image data and biometric palm templates of the Airport ID Card holder must be recorded for access control purposes. This is done on site, before the Airport ID Card is handed over to the holder.

  7. In case the airport ID card is not in use for longer than 6 months (e.g. maternity leave), this must be reported to the Vienna Airport ID Card Office.

  8. The Airport ID Card is only valid for the authorized Airport ID Card holder and is not transferable.

  9. Parts of Vienna Airport that are not generally accessible may only be entered for a legitimate reason (business requirements) while carrying out official duties.

  • upon termination of the employment relationship
  • if you change employer
  • in the event of changes in the need for access to areas for which access authorization has been granted
  • when the validity of the Airport ID Card expires
  • if access authorization is withdrawn

  2. The Airport ID Card must be worn clearly visible at all times by the holder (top piece of clothing, near the middle of the front) from the moment you enter until you leave the non-generally accessible parts.

  3. Any use of the bypass road around aircraft parking positions, slopes and runways is only permitted after successful completion of the relevant paid training (airside driving license), subject to a fee, at Airside Operations.

  4. Failure to comply with one of the points listed above or misuse of the Airport ID Card can result in additional training (repeating the security training) for a fee, its immediate withdrawal, a ban on access to parts that are not generally accessible and, if necessary, administrative criminal proceedings.
