January 2025 Traffic Results: 2,436,351 passengers (+4.8%) handled by the Flughafen Wien Group and 1,890,102 passengers at Vienna Airport (+3.4%)
 
Passenger volumes also increased in the first month of the year 2025. Passenger traffic of the Flughafen Wien Group (Vienna Airport, Malta Airport and Kosice Airport) rose compared to January 2024 by 4.8% to 2,436,351 travellers in January 2025, whereas Vienna Airport reported a 3.4% increase to 1,890,102 passengers.
 
The number of local passengers at Vienna Airport in January 2025 was up to 1,542,649 (+6.1%), whereas transfer passenger traffic fell to 340,378 travellers (-7.2%). The number of flight movements in January 2025 increased by 4.0% year-on-year to 15,778 take-offs and landings. Cargo volume equalled 21,541 tonnes, comprising a rise of 3.1% from the prior-year month of January 2024.
 
Details on passenger traffic in January 2025
Passenger traffic from Vienna Airport to Western Europe in the month of January 2025 rose to 636,267 travellers, comprising an increase of 0.5% from the previous year. The number of passengers flying to Eastern Europe in January 2025 amounted to 135,798 travellers (+3.2%). Vienna Airport reported a total of 27,864 passengers flying to North America (+11.4%), and 26,803 to Africa (+21.9%). The passenger volume to destinations in the Middle East totalled 67,422 travellers (+1.6%) in January 2025, whereas passenger traffic to the Far East climbed to 53,016 travellers, equalling a year-on-year increase of 38.3%. 
 
The strategic investments of Flughafen Wien AG also developed very well. Passenger volume at Malta Airport rose 9.0% to 507,574 travellers in January 2025. Kosice Airport handled a total of 38,675 passengers, showing a significant increase of 21.9% from the prior-year month.
